FOLLOWING GIVEAWAY IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES (AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA)
ONLY. DO NOT ENTER THIS GIVEAWAY IF YOU ARE NOT LOCATED IN THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES (AND
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA).

SPONSOR: Half Price Books, Records, Magazines, Incorporated (“Half Price Books”),
5803 E. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75231.

ELIGIBILITY: The HPB Spring Sign Up Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) is open only to legal
residents of the fifty (50) United States (and the District of Columbia). Do not enter this Giveaway
if you are not a resident of the fifty (50) United States (and District of Columbia). Entrants must
be at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Minors will be automatically disqualified. Employees
of Half Price Books and their respective parent companies, affiliates, promotion and other vendor
agencies involved in this Giveaway, as well as the immediate family members (spouse, parents,
siblings and children) and household members of each such employee, are not eligible to enter. This
Giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void
where prohibited by law.

DESCRIPTION OF GIVEAWAY: Entrants will be entered into a drawing to win a Half
Price Books Gift Card worth $20 USD. One hundred (100) winners will be drawn.

TIMING: The Entry Period begins Monday, April 10, 2023, at 12:00:01 AM CT and ends
Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 11:59:59 PM CT (the “Entry Period”). The Giveaway drawings will be held
on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

HOW TO ENTER: There are two (2) ways to enter. No purchase is necessary to enter
or win. All entries are the property of Sponsor for use in potential future marketing promotions and
not returnable.
Online Method of Entry: During the Entry Period, visit halfpricebooks.com/sign-up-giveaway
and follow all entry instructions. All online entries must be received during the Entry
Period. Online entrants are subject to all notices posted online including Sponsor’s Privacy Policy,
which can be found at
www.hpb.com/privacy-policy.
In the event of a dispute as to any email registration, the authorized account holder of the email
address used to register will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the
natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or
other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the
submitted address. Each potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized
account holder. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than one entry by using multiple
identities, email addresses, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that
participant’s plays, and that participant may be disqualified in Half Price Books’ sole discretion.
Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in
operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access
to, or alteration of, entries, including any error that may result in an erroneous appearance of
qualification for a prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of
any computer equipment or software that results in loss of entry. Likewise, Sponsor is not
responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected registrations, which
will be disqualified. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of Sponsor or Administrator
and will not be returned.

Mail-In/Alternative Method of Entry: To enter the Giveaway without filling out the
online entry form, you may submit a mail-in entry. To enter via this method, handwrite your first
and last name, street address, phone number, and e-mail address on a piece of paper, insert the
paper into a #10 envelope, and mail your entry via first-class mail to: HPB Spring Sign Up Giveaway,
5803 E. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75231. Only one mail-in entry accepted per person. Sponsor is not
responsible for late, lost, damaged, illegible, or postage-due mail. To be eligible, your mail-in
entry must be postmarked during the Entry Period and received no later than May 3, 2023. Mail-in
entrants may receive a text message confirming receipt; therefore, messaging and data rates may
apply.

WINNER PRIZE SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: This is a game of chance. Odds of winning
are based on the number of eligible entries. The potential winners will be selected by drawing an
entry form at random. All potential winners are subject to verification by Sponsor, whose decisions
are final and binding in all matters related to the Giveaway. The potential winners will be notified
via email once the Entry Period has ended and winners have been selected. The potential winners will
be asked to provide additional verification information and are required to respond to such
notification within forty-eight (48) hours of the first notification attempt. Sponsor shall have no
liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by a potential
winner for any reason. If, despite reasonable efforts, a potential winner does not respond within
forty-eight (48) hours of the first notification attempt, or if the prize or prize notification is
returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to such potential winner, such potential winner will forfeit
his or her prize. Should the winner not respond within the required timeframe, the prize may remain
un-awarded.
If any potential winner is found to be ineligible, or if he or she has not complied with
these Official Rules or declines a prize for any reason prior to award, such potential winner will
be disqualified and an alternate winner might be selected as detailed herein, or the prize may
remain un-awarded. The prize is not transferable; no prize substitutions or cash alternatives are
allowed except as may be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Entrants who live outside of
the fifty (50) United States (and District of Columbia) or fail to complete all required entry
fields will be disqualified.

PRIZE AND RETAIL VALUE: One hundred (100) winners will each receive a Half Price
Books Gift Card worth $20, valid at all Half Price Books stores, Half Price Books Outlets and online
at HPB.com. Prize is valued at $20.00, excluding shipping (US). Allow 8 weeks for delivery. Sponsor
will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen gift cards. All federal, state, local and other
taxes and fees are the sole responsibility of each individual winner.

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the Giveaway constitutes full and
unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor,
which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent on fulfilling all requirements set forth
herein. By entering, each participant agrees to: (a) comply with and be bound by these Official
Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which are binding and final in all matters relating to this
Giveaway; (b) release and hold harmless the Sponsor, the prize suppliers and each of their
respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, and any other organizations responsible for
sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Giveaway, and all of their
respective past and present officers, directors, employees, shareholders, agents and representatives
(collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability,
including but not limited to negligence and damages of any kind to persons and property, including
but not limited to invasion of privacy (under appropriation, intrusion, public disclosure of private
facts, false light in the public eye or other legal theory), defamation, slander, libel, violation
of right of publicity, infringement of trademark, copyright or other intellectual property rights,
property damage, or death or personal injury arising out of or relating to a participant’s entry,
creation of an entry or submission of an entry, participation in the Giveaway, acceptance or use or
misuse of prize (including any travel or activity related thereto) and/or the broadcast,
exploitation or use of entry; and (c) indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties from
and against any and all claims, expenses, and liabilities (including reasonable attorney’s fees)
arising out of or relating to an entrant’s participation in the Giveaway and/or winner’s acceptance,
use or misuse of a prize.

RELEASE & HOLD HARMLESS: By entering the Giveaway, you release and hold harmless
Sponsor and its respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers,
employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising
from or in connection with this Giveaway or any prize won, including any injuries, loss or damage of
any kind arising from or in connection with participation in the Giveaway. Sponsor is not
responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of this offer, administration of
the Giveaway or in the announcement of prizes.

FORCE MAJEURE: In the event Sponsor is prevented from continuing with this
Giveaway, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the Giveaway is undermined by any event including
but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God
or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or
undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, hacking, or any federal, state or local government law,
order or regulation, order of any court or other cause not within Sponsor’s control (each a “Force
Majeure“ event or occurrence), Sponsor shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate,
modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Giveaway without further obligation and, if so, Sponsor
reserves the right, but not the obligation, to award the prize from among all valid and eligible
entries received up to the time of such Force Majeure event.

PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes winners’
consent to Sponsor’s and its designee’s use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions
and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment
or consideration. IF ENTRANT IS CHOSEN AS A PRIZE WINNER, ENTRANT’S PERSONAL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION
MAY BE DISCLOSED TO THIRD PARTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, PLACING ENTRANT’S NAME ON A
WINNER’S LIST AS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any
incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the
equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Giveaway; (2) technical failures of any
kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or
network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process
or the Giveaway; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Giveaway
or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be
caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Giveaway or
receipt or use or misuse of any prize. If for any reason an entrant’s entry is confirmed to have
been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is
another entry in the Giveaway play, provided that if it is not possible to award another entry due
to discontinuance of the Giveaway, or any part of it, for any reason, Sponsor, at its discretion,
may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of
discontinuance for any or all of the prizes offered herein. No more than the stated number of prizes
will be awarded. In event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons
cause more than stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or
claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing
among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

WARNING: NY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON, WHETHER OR NOT AN ENTRANT, TO DAMAGE, DESTROY,
TAMPER OR VANDALIZE ANY COMPUTERIZED SITE OR UNDERMINE THE OPERATION OF THE GIVEAWAY IS A VIOLATION
OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND DILIGENTLY PURSUE ALL
REMEDIES AGAINST ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

DISPUTES: Entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of
action arising out of or connected with this Giveaway, or any Prizes awarded, other than those
concerning the administration of the Giveaway or the determination of winners, shall be resolved
individually, without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any and all disputes, claims and
causes of action arising out of or connected with this Giveaway, or any Prizes awarded, shall be
resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts of Dallas, Texas; (iii) any and all claims,
judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs
associated with entering this Giveaway, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (iv) under no
circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights
to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual
out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of
these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with
the Giveaway, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of
Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of
Texas or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction
other than the State of Texas.

USE OF ENTRANT’S PERSONAL INFORMATION: By participating in the Giveaway,
entrants may be sharing personal or confidential information with Sponsor. By participating in the
Giveaway, entrants agree to Sponsor use of his or her personal information as described herein and
in the
HPB privacy
policy.
WINNERS LIST: The name of the prize winner may be obtained by sending a
self-addressed, stamped envelope postmarked by May 31, 2023 to: Half Price Books, Records,
