HOW WILL RECIPES BE JUDGED?

All entries must meet the requirements of the contest entry criteria. Recipes not meeting contest entry criteria will be disqualified. There are two entry form fields that do not need to be filled out to be qualified — the optional photo upload and the optional recipe inspiration. Submissions without the optional items will not be judged less favorably than those that do submit a photo or inspiration.

Entries must be the original recipe of the entrant. Judging will be done by culinary professionals (the “Judges”) to confirm appropriate use of one or more eligible products in addition to consideration of the criteria outlined below (collectively, the “Judging Criteria”) and weighted equally:

Taste
Appearance
Creativity
Foodservice Viability

Judges will disqualify previously published recipes, such as but not limited to those in cookbooks, in magazines, online, from food companies, and winners in recipe contests, unless the recipe features changes considered significant by the Judges in their sole and absolute discretion. Finalists will be required to certify, on information or belief, that their recipes are their original creation and have not been published or publicized and have not been recognized as a winner in a recipe contest. Judges reserve the right to change recipe names, edit, adapt or modify entries as they deem appropriate. Decisions of the Judges are final in all matters relating to this contest.
HOW WILL REGIONAL WINNERS BE SELECTED?

During the selection of the ten (10) Regional Winner recipes, Judges will score qualified recipes submitted using the Judging Criteria and the points assigned to each recipe by each judge will be combined for a total score (the “Total Score”). This Total Score will be used to determine the two (2) Regional Winner winning recipes (each, a “Regional Winner”) in each region. Entrants whose recipes are selected by the Judges will become Regional Recipe Winners for their region (each a “Regional Winner”). General Mills reserves the right to combine or alter regions. If your recipe is one of the ten (10) Regional Winning recipes, you will be notified via phone and/or email in July 2019.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I BECOME A REGIONAL WINNER?

Regional Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a confidentiality agreement and a liability release/assignment of rights giving General Mills and its nominees full rights to use the Regional Winner’s name, likeness, image and voice for contest-related advertising and publicity, including such usage on the Internet, and return it within five (5) business days of receipt of notification. General Mills will advise Regional Winners of their status and of further contest procedures and policies after review of all documents submitted.

Once confirmed by General Mills as an official Regional Winner, General Mills may advise Regional Winners of further contest procedures and policies, and all Regional Winners agree to comply with such procedures. Regional Winners may not participate in any third party promotional efforts during the six months following their receiving notification of winning without General Mills’ permission. Regional Winners are required to participate in the Hometown Celebration Event and prize announcement in their hometown during the months of August and September 2019. Any Regional Winner who does not comply with these requirements, cannot be easily located at the address or phone number provided, or who is unable to attend the Hometown Celebration Event will not be allowed to compete and will not be eligible for any prize. If a Regional Winner becomes unable to compete for any reason, General Mills may attempt to replace that Regional Winner with an alternate, provided that the alternate can comply with the conditions stated above. General Mills in its sole discretion may also choose not to replace any Regional Winner.
HOW WILL THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER BE SELECTED?

Judges will score each of the ten (10) Regional Winning recipes using the Judging Criteria, and the points assigned to each recipe by each judge will be combined for a total score (the “Total Score”). The Grand Prize Recipe Winner (the “Grand Prize Winner”) will be determined by comparing the Total Scores for each of the ten (10) Regional Winner recipes. The Regional Recipe Winner with the highest Total Score will be deemed the Grand Prize Recipe Winner. In the event of a tie between two or more of the Regional Recipe Winner Total Scores, the Regional Recipe Winner recipe receiving the most points for the Creativity Judging Criteria will be designated the winner of the tie.
HOW WILL THE “PEOPLE’S CHOICE” AWARD BE SELECTED AND ANNOUNCED?

Photos taken by General Mills of all the Regional Winning Recipes will be posted on the Neighborhood to Nation Facebook page on or about August 1, 2019 for a one (1) week period. The public will be encouraged to “like” their favorite Regional Winning Recipe photo. The photo that receives the most “likes” during that one (1) week period will be awarded with the “People’s Choice” award and an additional $1,000 for their designated charity. Winner will be announced on the Neighborhood to Nation Facebook page on or around September 1, 2019.
HOW WILL THE REGIONAL RECIPE WINNERS AND GRAND PRIZE RECIPE WINNER BE ANNOUNCED?

No compensation will be awarded in lieu of the difference in the approximate retail value for the trip. Travel must be made through General Mills’ agent, on a carrier of General Mills’ choice. Travel is subject to availability. Grand Prize Winner must possess United States government-approved travel documents. Grand Prize Winner must comply with all hotel check-in requirements, including the presentation of a major credit card. Unused components of the trip have no redeemable cash value. All airline tickets issued in connection with the trip are not eligible for frequent flyer miles or upgrades and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. Lost or stolen tickets, travel vouchers or certificates or similar items, once they are in a Grand Prize Winner’s possession, will not be replaced. Travel must be roundtrip. Any unclaimed and/or unused trip elements will be forfeited and will remain the property of General Mills. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in these official rules and those set forth by General Mills’ air travel prize supplier, as detailed in the passenger ticket contract issued by such supplier. In the event Grand Prize Winner and/or his or her guests engage in behavior that (as determined by General Mills in its sole discretion) is obnoxious or threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, General Mills reserves the right to terminate the trip or other applicable experience early, in whole or in part, and send the Grand Prize Winner and/or his or her guests home with no further compensation.
